WELCOME
The LMPO, more formally called the Lubbock Metropolitan Planning Organization, is a federally mandated organization
developed to coordinate the highway, transit, and land use planning process in order to receive federal funds for
highway and transit improvements. The LMPO is the organization that brings together the following agencies to make
continuing, cooperative, and comprehensive transportation decisions.

- City of Lubbock
- City of Wolfforth
- Lubbock County
- Texas Department of Transportation
The Lubbock Metropolitan Planning Organization is comprised of a Transportation Policy Committee (TPC),
Transportation Advisory Committee (TAC), Transportation Planning Director, MPO Staff and a Fiscal Agent.
Transportation Policy Committee
The Transportation Policy Committee is the decision making body of the LMPO. The Transportation Policy
Committee may consider creation of other committees and sub-committees for a special purpose or to ensure
adequate pro-active public participation in the transportation planning process.
Transportation Advisory Committee
The Transportation Advisory Committee is responsible for providing technical support for the Transportation Policy Committee.
The Lubbock Metropolitan Planning Organization is
amending the FY 2011 - 2014 Transportation Improvement Program.
The public is invited to comment on this amendment through
4:00 p.m. on January 16, 2012. There will be two public forums
held in order to receive input from the public as well.

The Lubbock Metropolitan Planning Organization is issuing a
"Call for Projects"
for our Metropolitan Transportation Plan: 2040.
The "Call" begins today, December 13, 2011, and will continue through
the close of business on January 13, 2011. Please click the attached
link for the letter and the Call for Projects form.
All projects will be evaluated as submitted through our
Project Selection Criteria and will be prioritized by the
LMPO Staff, the Transportation Advisory Committee and ultimately
decided by the Transportation Policy Committee.
